Stereo-typing

Hello all,
heee~ it's been a while since i last update..
was filling all my free time with crocheting.. (miahahahaha)
will update on the outcome soon.. =)

ok~
let's go back to the topic..
stereo-typing or in other words it's called
looking at people with a typical thinking of the people by judging of his/her race/nationality or appearances...
well, somehow, we do like people who are good looking and in well manners,
who doesn't right?
but somehow, do we even realised, that by doing so, we are being stereotype or even biased or simply said that we 'preferred'?
we tend to judge people..
we tend to classify people according to their race
and this is what they called discrimination...

i m not aware that im being discriminative towards others until i learned that by referring people according to their race / nationality/ appearances is being discriminate.. i learned this in one of the citizenship workshop that i went to, and some group that i followed..

but my heart towards this was opened wide when i heard a conversation in the bus,
a woman and a guy (both are not local)
*they were asking me to tell them where is the immigration office*
then i heard the woman ask the guy,
(the conversation is in english)

woman: how long have u been here
man: it's already 15years since 1995
woman: woah, are you not going back to your place?
man: yes i will, next year
woman: what do u like about malaysia?
man: i like it here. it is more peaceful than my country. and i can easily find jobs here.

and the conversation continues..
what really goes into my head is that, the immigrants like it here in malaysia because their country is not peaceful, there are fightings everywhere. and the poverty level is too high...
and then the guy asked me, are you malaysian? n i answered yes, he said, well i m sorry that i have to ask that, it just that nowdays, you cannot tell the person from where by just looking at the face, like me, people said im indian, but im not, im a pakistan. you are a good malay, i found that malay does not want to speak english with others, even they know the language, but chinese n indians they speak very well english.. thank you for your help..

yeah, at that point.. im being awaken, not all immigrants are bad, they are just here to get a living and to share in the land that god the almighty has prepared for all of us regardless of race n nationality... and this had taught me to not look at them all the same, because even thou they say, "kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga" it is not right for us to judge everyone as the same for only one man's fault..

so cheers to human right!! and stop discriminating against immigrants..
(*when we are in their shoes, we will know how its feel, just try it by being a tourist in a place where you have never been and feel how its like to be treated as the same*)
