Medan Trip 2011-Day 1

hehe..
well i have just come back from a short trip to Medan, Indonesia, a long awaited trip that we had planned.. (it is indeed a very long wait for this trip).. well thanx to AA bcos of u, doing ur big sale early so we need to adjust to time and make sure the plan goes well, that's what they say that we can only plan, but God will have show the way..

Day 1

while waiting for our flight, we had breakfast at.. hehehe.. marybrown
here is the red-stuff dat needed to go out from malaysia.. huhu

now, its me with my boarding pass and the passport.. weee~ excitedly cant wait to go vacation to other country.. (but this excitement doesnt last long, btw)

after a long hassle thru the malaysian immigration and custom, bags were scan a few times and really i dunno how people can bring out drugs...
so we manage to find our flight, and it sux a lot bcos, the alley number is not correctly told, and we are lucky that we manage to find the damn flight.
since we had went thru a very hard night, we try to sleep for the 45mins fly to medan, but to no avail, that we are disturbed, as we need to fill in forms for immigration purposes.. like a short visit pass.. and really dunno how to fill that up but just follow the instruction.. hahahaha...

when we had arrived, that we are so excited that we did not take pictas.. hahahaha
seriously, we dint take any pictas at the small airport of polonia.

so we went thru immigration and custom check,
then we have to scan our bags again, right at the very end of the scanner, there are mens standing waiting to help to carry the lugages, but beware, this is not free! so if u dont want to end up paying a service u dont need, carry your own lugage, owh btw, the trolley is need to be paid to use.

so we went out and start to look for our hotel representative,
and we cannot find him. so we end up looking for small change and bought mineral waters that cost us 4000 rp. hahahaha

then we look around again to find for that representative, and we manage to see he's holding a A4 paper, with i think font 40pt. for my name in blue, and what the fish is so small is that.
so he take us to the car and begin our journey to the hotel.

We are sight seeing all the way to the hotel, and this is becos, the hotel is at the end side of the town actually, when the promo said that they are situated at the heart of the town, but blimey, its at the end of the road. and owh, here the trafic is almost all only one-sided way. so if u missed your destination, u'll have to drive the whole merry go round again..

And so we arrived at the hotel, but since we are tooooooo early for check in we were asked to wait for 30 mins, for our room. So we waited patiently at the lobby there, waiting for our turn, and we look around, that we see many fellow malaysian are staying there, maybe they bought it from airasiago.com just like us.. haahahaha
so after about 1hour or so we were given our room, and before that we were asked to pay deposit for the mini bar that cost us rp150000.

deluxe room u might say. hahaha.before that we snap a pic of ourselves using the big mirror.. woohoo,
so then we bath and sleep for a while, before we go out to explore the city of medan.
and oh, we ordered room service for lunch.. hahahahahaha

That evening after we had our lunch, we begin to look at the map provided by the hotel, then we decided to go for the shopping mall first, so we ask the reception if it is easier to get a taxi from the hotel, but then they told us they also provide hotel transfer for rp30000. So we took their service to the Sun Plaza Mall..

Here at the mall i can say that this mall is like klcc, it got all the branded items here. so we go thru all the floor.. yes we manage to go around the whole mall, excellent isnt it? hahahaha
after that we discussed and look at the map of the nearest mall then we choose palladium mall, so we took a 'becak' (trishaw) cost us rp15000.

At the palladium, the anchor mall there is matahari departmental store, and the price of their clothing is ok~ so we browse thru all of it (i mean every floor) but not much really. We wanted to proceed to the next mall, so we ask a lady who apparently was very helpful and nice, even thou its her working time.. ngee~ and she told us that the mall that we are heading is closed for renovation, and suggested that we go to cambridge mall (a mall that is similar and near sunplaza) she told us how to get a bus (the 'angkot) by telling us the number of bus that we should be taking. So we went out, and there is so many 'becak' waiting outside. They offered us their service, but this particular guy looks like he is not very well, that we dont want to risk ourselves, so we waited for the blue-bird taxi. Yes this taxi is using meter, starting from rp5000. Since we are tired for waiting of the taxi, we headed back to our hotel.

By seeing the hectic life of the small city, makes us feels very tired and doesnt want to go out for the night. Therefore we spend our night at the hotel, eating n sleeping, charging for tomorow.
